What wasn’t meant to be in 2020… but is now all set for 2021

2021 will be an amazing sports year

Other Sports Betting

On very rare occasions, the stars align and everything seems to just fall into place. The world conspires to give us one of those years that is sure to live long in the collective memory; and for sports fans, 2020 was destined to be one of those years. It was lining up to be a non-stop production line of top-level tournaments spread across the globe.

Sadly, as we now know, it wasn’t to be. Not all is lost, though, and next year we’ll return to normality with a top-drawer selection of the best events sport has to offer.

FOOTBALL

Copa America:

Argentina and Colombia come together as joint hosts for the 47th edition of a tournament set to kick off with a clash between Argentina and Chile – a fixture that has fast become a classic for fans of the beautiful game.

We’ll be treated to a month-long South American fiesta of football that will now be brought to a close with the final in Barranquilla on the 11th of July 2021.

European Championships:

As if the Copa America wasn’t enough, stadiums across Europe will be packed to the rafters next summer as well. The continent’s top sides are set to lock horns to decide who will be crowned champions this time around. Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal side are well prepared to defend their throne against the likes of Mbappe’s France, a rejuvenated Holland side, an England team led by Harry Kane or the dangerous Belgium of Eden Hazard, not to mention Spain, Germany and Italy.

So, when next June finally comes around, we’ll have forgotten everything we’ve been deprived of during 2020 and revel in these two footballing festivals on either side of the Atlantic for a month of guaranteed excitement day and night.

THE OLYMPIC GAMES

If you’re yet to get your sporting fill with the Copa America and European Championships, Tokyo is due to raise the curtain on the XXXII Olympic Games in late July next year.
The world’s best athletes head to Japan to deliver another fortnight of thrills. Sports fans across the planet will come together to enjoy the competition’s 39 different disciplines that are sure to make us laugh and cry and everything in between for a little over two weeks.

Athletics, Swimming, Handball, Basketball, Football… a month packed full of the greatest sporting action, whatever your tastes.

REGULAR FIXTURES

The Copa America, European Championships and Olympic Games are the stellar dates in the 2021 calendar, but let’s not forget the best tournaments from around the world that have us coming back year after year for our sporting fix.

The Copa Libertadores, the Champions League, other international leagues, the ATP and WTA tennis tournaments, the NBA, the NFL, NHL, and the Six Nations Rugby are just some events that will be back stronger in 2021 to make sure it’s another unforgettable year for all us sports lovers.
