The New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies can gain ground on the NL East leading Florida Marlins when the two meet in a weekend series.

The Mets are a ½ game back and will send prized offseason Southpaw acquisition, Johan Santana against the Phillies (1½ games back), who will counter with their own lefty, Cole Hamels.
