Yanks Start Molina At Catcher
Despite winning 9-2 in their ALDS opener against the Minnesota Twins, the New York Yankees have a little controversy.
A.J. Burnett starts for the Yanks tonight and regular catcher Jorge Posada will sit this one out, replaced by Jose Molina–Posada batted .285 with 22 homers in the regular season while Molina hit .217 with one HR.
Burnett says that it was manager Joe Girardi’s decision and not his but still, the Yankees are favored in this evening’s game at -290 while the Twins are +245.
The Pinstripers have also been on the winning side in the majority of Burnett’s last 11 home starts, going 9-2 SU.
