Eli Manning Practices

Updated October 9, 2009

After missing a few practices, New York Giants QB Eli Manning was back taking snaps with the first-team on Friday.

Manning was held out of practice on Wednesday and Thursday to receive treatment on his injured foot according to ESPN.

Second-string QB David Carr practiced with the first-team offense in Manning’s absence and took a few snaps on Friday before giving way to the usual No. 1.

Head coach Tom Coughlin said that he is willing to wait until right before kickoff in Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders for a decision on Manning’s status.

Manning suffered a right foot injury against Kansas City last week and could play this week depending on his pain threshold.

The NY Times reports that Manning has plantar fasciitis in his right foot and team doctors have told him he can play against Oakland but it will be “painful.”

Despite Manning’s status, the Giants were listed as huge 17-point home faves earlier and are now favored by 15 with an Over/Under of 37.5.
