Concussed Tebow Ready For LSU Oct. 10?
Updated October 1, 2009
The Florida Gators’ chances at consecutive BCS titles might be affected after Heisman-winning QB Tim Tebow suffered a concussion on Saturday.
The Gators managed to defeat the Kentucky Wildcats 41-7, but Tebow suffered a concussion in the third quarter and was taken to hospital.
ESPN reported Wednesday that “there still no timetable on when Tebow might be able to play again or return to practice.”
The Gators, thankfully, have the week off before a big SEC battle against No. 4 Louisiana State on October 10; head coach Urban Meyer even told the AP that Tebow could be ready for that game but backup QB John Brantley is ready to go just in case.
The AP reports that Brantley has been taking a majority of the snaps at practice this week.
Florida and its QB were both betting favorites in both BCS championship and Heisman Trophy betting and the concussion really hasn’t affected things.
The Florida signal-caller won the Heisman back in 2007 and in mid-August was listed at +200–Tebow’s odds have improved as he is currently +175 to take the honor this year.
Florida was listed at +200 to repeat as BCS champs in late-summer and its odds for consecutive titles haven’t changed.
