Patriots’ “Spygate” Saga Continues

It looks like this thing isn’t going to go away, as the NFL announced that they are close to signing off on a deal with Matt Walsh. Walsh is the New England employee who taped the St. Louis Rams’ walk-through practice before the 2002 Super Bowl (which New England won).

Walsh had been seeking protection from any legal action against him before turning over the tapes. As I’m sure most of you remember, the initial investigation into this ended with Bill Belichick getting fined $500,000, the team had to pay $250,000 and they lost their first round draft pick (they’ll still pick seventh overall thanks to a trade with San Fran).

We’ll update this story as it continues to unfold.
