Vegas Books Rule Philly Took Game 5
If you bet on the Philadelphia Phillies on the Money line via a bookie in Vegas, congratulations, your bet paid out, even though Game 5 has yet to be completed (see below).
According to the state’s gaming commission, “the final score of an official baseball game, for betting purposes, is determined by reverting to the last completed inning,” says the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Since the fifth inning was the last full inning played and since Philly had a 2-1 lead in the fifth, the Phillies were, for Vegas bookie’s purposes, the Money line winner.
However, Over/Under and Run line bets were refunded as 8½ innings must be played in order for bets to be official.
