Speaking Of Horse Racing - UK Books On The Hook

British bookmakers are going to be ordered to pay an annual levy of around 100 million pounds ($190 million) to support the horse race industry. The fee goes to fund prize money and programs to breed and care for animals. The government stepped in to mandate the fee after talks broke down between the racing industry and the bookmakers.
