With starting QB Tommy Beecher suffering from a shoulder injury, Chris Smelley will call the signals when the South Carolina Gamecocks play the Vanderbilt Commodores on Thursday.

Smelley subbed in for Beecher in the fourth quarter of SC’s 34-0 win over N.C. State, going 5 of 5 for 92 yards, 2 TDs and no INTs.

South Carolina is a 10-point road fave for the Vandy game.
