After a stint on the disabled list, Chicago Cubs closer Kerry Wood is ready to return to action.
Wood, who missed time to allow for a blister on his pitching hand to heal, will get back up to speed working as a middle reliever before returning to his usual closer position.

After spending close to two months on the DL with a left wrist injury, Boston Red Sox DH David Ortiz reportedly tweaked the problem spot against K.C. last night.
According to ESPN, Ortiz “felt a ‘click’ in his left wrist” yesterday during an at-bat.
No word on whether Papi would play tonight.
