ESPN is reporting that Kentucky F Patrick Patterson, the Southeastern Conference’s top scorer amongst freshman (16.4 ppg), will miss the remainder of the season.
An X-ray revealed that Patterson has a stress fracture in his left ankle.
Kentucky plays SEC rival Tennessee on Sunday and while a line has not yet been set, SPORTSBETTING.COM has the Wildcats listed at +10,000 to win the NCAA March Madness tournament this year.

- The Dallas Cowboys re-signed OT Flozell Adams and signed former Miami LB Zach Thomas and are listed at +600 to win next year’s Super Bowl.
- LB Tedy Bruschi re-signed with the New England Patriots and the Pats are listed at +175 to win the AFC Championship in 2009.
- The Raiders re-signed RB Justin Fargas and are a longshot to make the Super Bowl at +8000.
- Former Raiders WR Jerry Porter signed a deal with Jacksonville and the Jags are +600 to take the AFC title.

After being acquired at the trade deadline from the Atlanta Thrashers, Marian Hossa only lasted about two periods in his Pittsburgh Penguins debut against the Boston Bruins.
Hossa suffered a MCL sprain when taking a knee-on-knee hit from Glen Murray and sat out the third period in what would be a 5-1 loss to the Bruins.

What originally was diagnosed as a strained hip flexor turned out to be much worse for Washington Wizards forward Caron Butler.
After being re-examined, Butler was found to have a labral tear in his left joint said the AP and his return was uncertain.

After guiding his team to one of the biggest upsets in recent Super Bowl history, New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin will reportedly receive a Giant paycheck.
The New York Daily News reports that the Giants and Coughlin are putting the finishing touches on a four-year extension that will see the coach earning an average of $5.25 million a year for a total of approximately $21 million.
The Giants are listed at +1200 to repeat as champs.

After leading the American League in strikeouts last year, Tampa Devil Rays ace Scott Kazmir will miss the next two weeks.
Kazmir, who led the AL with 239 strikeouts last season, was diagnosed with “stuffiness in his throwing arm” after suffering an injury while warming up for an intrasquad game yesterday.
