Wladimir Klitschko, the IBF champ, is the favorite in tonight’s bout vs. Sultan Ibragimov, the WBO champ. This is the first unification match since 1999, when Lennox Lewis beat Evander Holyfield. Klitschko holds a four-inch height advantage and weighed in 19 pounds heavier.

Pavlik Defeats Taylor In Close Decision

Middleweight Champion of the World, Kelly Pavlik (33-0, 29 KO’s), scored a unanimous decision over Jermain Taylor, (27-2, 17 KO’s), in front of an energetic crowd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas last night. It was Pavlik’s second defeat in as many tries vs. Taylor, as he also won their 2007 bout.

Tebow and Mayweather Tickets Cash

The last couple of days we’ve made posts related to both the Heisman award and the boxing match between Hatton and Mayweather Jr. Last night both events provided a winner. In New York, the heavy favorite Tim Tebow become the first sophomore to ever win the Heisman Trophy for outstanding play in college football.

Later that evening in Las Vegas, Mayweather’s backers cheered their winning tickets when he scored a TKO in the 10th round. Mayweather was a -240 favorite by the time the first punches were thrown.
